About CCYF

Our Mission

The CCYF program is dedicated to continued growth and to allow more young athletes to play the sport of football with the belief that, "Most Teams Help People Become Better Athletes, But the Best Teams Help Athletes Become Better People".

History

In 1983 the league began with 3 teams. One 7th & 8th grade team and one 5th & 6th grade team that played in the Portland Boys Club. One 3rd & 4th grade team that played in I-205 Belt League. With all the leagues in Portland, most of the games were played there too, so it meant a lot of dedication from players, parents, and coaches to get the kids where they needed to be.

Since then the league has grown into the largest and most established youth football program in the county.

The CCYF program has always been about giving the players a safe, positive football experience, with the motto "Kids First and Winning Second." It has been a goal of CCYF to help build feeder programs to the local high schools, to help them reach their ultimate goal of winning a state championship for their school. This goal was first met in 1995 by the kids who had played for the Lewis River Raiders and went on to win the state class "A" championship for Ridgefield High School. We continue to have success with our high school program affilitations:

  • 2004 WIAA 4A State Championship - Evergreen High School
  • 2016 WIAA 4A State Championship - Camas High School
  • 2017 WIAA 2A State Championship - Hockinson High School
  • 2018 WIAA 2A State Championship - Hockinson High School
  • 2018 WIAA 4A State Championship - Union High School
